Since the launch of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a colorful mix of characters, and a gripping narrative including angels, demons, and dark forces growing in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Note: Revealing details for Episode 3 of this adventure are included.
The Warrior Group Revealed
The third episode concluded with a major cliffhanger and introduced the first table of heroes who will split off from the main group to begin their own adventure, separate from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table features Teor (brought to life by Travis), Thimble (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
Considering an extensive roster, it was obvious from the outset that maintaining everyone at one table would be unworkable.
This explains, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, intertwining the characters’ stories before branching into three smaller tables: Fighters, Planners, and Questers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for participants who enjoy a classically intense battle-oriented story mode where non-violent answers are scarce.
Upon first impression, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might seem unsuited, but the actions of the third episode make it clear why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
First, the group understands precisely where to proceed after a intense initial meeting with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose passing started the narrative’s action—manipulated the enemy for his own means, invading Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the rogue, and stealing all the magical artifacts to auction.
The antagonist then settled his obligations and ran away to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each character has a personal reason to depart the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, seeks retribution.
- Kattigan knows the region and warns that it is a dangerous place.
- The strong character and Wicander, having defied his family’s wishes to kill Teor and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their position as key figures in the influential clan could enable the team access places they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character swore a eternal obligation to The cleric for his deliverance and will now accompany him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are wanted by the powers that control the city for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city too risky:
- Thimble and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and The healer defied House Halovar and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by the family.
This means them no alternative but to head to the northern region in search of the antagonist.
Upcoming Developments
From episode three’s post-show segment, we learn that the warrior group will be absent next week, leaving the other eight cast members to round up the Seekers and Schemers groups.
Viewers can look forward to discovering which players will be in which group in the season’s final introductory chapter, released on October 24.
